Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Univo Innovations collects through the Univo app and this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the controls you have. This page is maintained by Univo Innovations to answer common privacy questions about our products.

1. Who we are
Univo Innovations ("Univo", "we", "us") builds the Univo student platform and provides digital solutions services to business clients. For any privacy question or request, contact privacy@univoinnovations.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to operate the service:
- Account information: name, email address, and the role you select (student or landlord).
- Profile and activity data: study room participation, achievements, streaks and leaderboard standing.
- Housing hub data: listing details, locations and enquiry messages submitted by landlords and students.
- Form submissions on this website: waitlist signups, agency project inquiries and support requests.
- Technical data: device type, app version, IP address and diagnostic logs used for security and troubleshooting.
3. Live audio and recording disclosure
Univo includes live audio study rooms. Your microphone is only accessed while you are inside a room and have granted the operating system microphone permission. You can mute or leave a room at any time, and you can revoke microphone permission in your device settings.
- Live audio is transmitted in real time to other participants in the same room.
- We do not record, store or sell room audio for advertising or profiling purposes.
- Audio may be temporarily processed in memory to deliver the stream and maintain call quality.
- If a recording feature is ever enabled for a room, every participant is shown a clear in-room recording indicator before recording begins, and recording is opt-in.
- Abuse reports may include a short buffered audio clip supplied by the reporting user so our moderation team can review the incident; those clips are deleted after the report is resolved.
4. How we use information
- To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
- To operate study rooms, leaderboards, perks and the housing hub.
- To respond to waitlist signups, project inquiries and support requests.
- To detect abuse, spam and security incidents.
- To improve reliability and product quality using aggregated, non-identifying usage data.
We do not sell your personal information. Where we display sponsored perks or brand placements, they are served based on general context, not by sharing your personal data with advertisers.
5. Account security
- Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
- Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored only as salted hashes — never in plain text.
- Database access is protected by row-level access rules so users can only reach their own records.
- Access to production systems is limited to authorised Univo personnel.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for notifying us of any suspected unauthorised access.
6. Sharing and service providers
We share data only with infrastructure providers that help us operate the service (cloud hosting, database, authentication, email delivery and real-time audio transport), and only to the extent required to provide those functions. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
7. Retention and deletion
Account data is retained while your account is active. Support and inquiry messages are retained for up to 24 months for service history. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing privacy@univoinnovations.com. We action verified deletion requests within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations.
8. Children and students
Univo is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
9. Your rights
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your account and data.
- Withdraw microphone, notification or location permissions at any time in your device settings.
- Object to a specific processing activity by contacting us.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect, and the "last updated" date above will change.
